This April 22nd marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. It’s also the 45th anniversary of Ohio Citizen Action! While the world has changed dramatically in that time -- and even more so in the past several weeks -- confronting climate change and protecting consumer rights remain mission critical.

In light of this world-changing pandemic, Ohio Citizen Action and the Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund are urging you to join us for a Virtual Earth Day!

#NatureSelfieOhio

Let's kick off our Earth Day activities with a much needed opportunity to get outside! Use #NatureSelfieOhio to post a picture of yourself in the great outdoors; share it across all your social media platforms. Tag us and we’ll share your pics throughout the week, making an inspiring Nature Selfie photo gallery! And remember to follow the hashtag as other members and supporters participate.

Coloring Contest

Virtual Earth Day Coloring Contest! We will award prizes in three categories: under age 7, ages 7-14, and ages 15 and up (including adults). The due date is Monday, April 20, and we’ll share the entries online throughout the week using #CleanFutureOhio. Show us what you envision for Ohio’s clean energy future!

Virtual Earth Day online Event - Conversation with Rachael Belz and Keya Chatterjee

We’re excited to headline our Virtual Earth Day with the inaugural “Conversations with Rachael Belz,” an informative hour in which our executive director and special guest Keya Chatterjee of U.S. Climate Action will get real about the impact of climate change, and preview upcoming opportunities for action.

Rachael Belz is Ohio Citizen Action's third-ever Executive Director and our resident organizing expert. She got her start organizing door-to-door as a field canvasser and has represented our members for more than 20 years.

Keya's work focuses on building an inclusive movement in support of climate action, and various media outlets including USA Today, the New York Times, and The Associated Press look to her for commentary on climate change policy and sustainability issues.

Join us from 3-4 p.m. on April 22, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, for a discussion between these two leading climate activists!
