(she/her)
Shannon Harper joined Ohio Citizen Action with a background in civic engagement, education, and political organizing. Her experience includes work as a Field Representative for the U.S. Census Bureau, a family law paralegal, a substitute teacher, and an eleven-year career as a licensed Realtor, which strengthened her communication, negotiation, and community engagement skills. In practical terms, she can explain federal survey methodology and also break up an argument about whose turn it is to use the hall pass.
Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Kent State University and a Master of Arts in History from Liberty University. She’s a lifelong Ohioan and currently lives in New Philadelphia with her husband and two dogs (who honestly believe they are the ones in charge). Her adult daughter lives in Chardon with her husband. Shannon loves thrifting for vintage clothing, hunting mid-century modern furniture and household items, history, local politics, and making sure everyone she knows votes.
