Ashlee is new to Ohio Citizen Action having started in May of 2024. She comes with four years of organizing experience. She was a community organizer with Michigan Education Justice Coalition. Co-chaired the Michigan chapter for Defense of Democracy. She helped start a parent advocacy group in her hometown to push back against misinformation and attacks on public education. Her advocacy work includes, supporting mental health resources for students and staff, clean air filtration in schools, increased funding to Michigan schools, safeguarding the rights of LGBTQ+ students and title IX compliance, DEI education and resources, just to name a few. Ashlee has been a part of parent committee feedback to the Governor’s office for Michigan. She has worked on her local school board campaigns and also worked as a voter specialist with the City of Ann Arbor.

Ashlee completed her B.S. in political science at Central Michigan University, she also has a global studies certification with MCCC, and is currently completing a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership with Wayne State.

When Ashlee is not getting into “good trouble” with advocacy and organizing work she enjoys her downtime with her partner and two sons. She enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, baking, and watching movies.
