Environmental groups in Ohio that make political contributions support renewable energy sources and new coal-burning technologies. The environmental groups contributing to candidates in Ohio include the Ohio Environmental Council, the Sierra Club, and the League of Conservation Voters. Ohio's largest environmental organization, Ohio Citizen Action, does not contribute to political candidates or parties.

From January 1, 2005 to June 30, 2007, environmental groups contributed a total of $7,620 to Ohio's current statewide officeholders and members of the General Assembly ($6,145 to the House and $700 to the Senate). There were no contributions from environmental groups to Ohios two major political parties.
