Air pollution in Cleveland is among the worst in the nation. Two industries in the Flats, Mittal Steel and General Environmental Management, are plaguing neighbors in Slavic Village, Tremont, Central, and downtown with terrible odors and chemical and gas emissions, as well as metal falling from the sky. Residents, fed up with the pollution and the lack of action by industry and government, are taking their own air pollution tests and releasing the results. They want Mittal Steel and General Environmental Management to be good neighbors and make the necessary investments to prevent pollution.
