OAK HARBOR -- A Cleveland area man is in jail
after trying to enter through the security gate at
the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant with a
gun.
On Wednesday, Davis-Besse security officers
found a loaded hand gun in the driver's seat of a
car driven by 54-year-old Horace Makodym. A short
time later, trace amounts of explosive material
was detected in the car.
The Toledo bomb squad searched the car for
explosives but nothing suspicious was found.
Makodym was at Davis-Besse to interview for a
security officer job. He told the Ottawa County
Sheriff's office that he used the gun during his
employment as a security guard in Cleveland.
Makodym is charged with carrying a concealed
weapon and improper transportation of a weapon.
He's being held with a bond of $8,000.
