Newly-released OSHA photos Herron Testing Labs, Cleveland

October 4, 2000 The following are newly-released photos taken by Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials during a May 2000 inspection of Herron Testing Labs. At the time these photos were taken, the employees had no idea they were being routinely exposed to beryllium dust. Citizen Action has obscured the employees' faces to protect their privacy. A Herron employee eating a sandwich while running a grinder in the machine shop (May 23, 2000). Employee using a hammer to prepare pieces for the grinder. The handle of the hammer had detectable beryllium and other metals in a wipe sample (May 26, 2000). Employee using a computer which set this lathe.
