Photos and documentary target AK Steel

A new photo exhibit and documentary slated for March 22 will document the struggles between environmental activists and AK Steel.

The show, "Envision," highlights efforts by local artists and activists, who claim AK Steel should be doing more to protect the environment near the steelmaker's home in Middletown.

The show will be held at Kelly Auditorium at Xavier University from 7 to 9 p.m., and will include the photo exhibit and a showing of the 31-minute documentary.

The show is part of a larger campaign called The Good Neighbor Campaign, which is targeting AK Steel.

The Sierra Club has joined a lawsuit with the federal and state Environmental Protection Agency against AK steel for alleged violations of the Clean Air and Water act.
