Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund

Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund is the non-profit research and public education affiliate of Ohio Citizen Action, the state’s largest environmental organization. Because the Education Fund does not devote significant resources to lobbying, it can receive tax-deductible contributions.

Founded in 1975, the Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund works in communities across Ohio to protect public health and the environment.

The Education Fund provides research and community organizing support for “good neighbor campaigns” in Ohio, where neighbors of polluting facilities have been able to win changes far beyond what environmental laws or regulations might require. The Education Fund helps citizens conduct their own air and water testing to galvanize support for pollution prevention, and offers resources and training for local campaigns, as well as a “Good Neighbor Campaign Handbook.”

The Education Fund is also known for tracking and analyzing the flow of campaign dollars to key decision-makers in the state government.

Contributions to the Ohio Citizen Action Education Fund are tax deductible under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The first $5 of your contribution is not tax-deductible because it will be used to pay membership dues to Ohio Citizen Action.
