Hal Madorsky is a lawyer and nonprofit professional. Hal currently serves as an Assistant Director of Law for the City of Cleveland. He learned about Ohio Citizen Action when he was doing grant making at The Jewish Community Federation. Hal said, "I was very impressed with the organization when I was in the grant-making business and I think it's fair to say I'm even more impressed now that I'm more involved with the organization." Hal's wife, Debra Gressel, is an art teacher at Hathaway Brown Upper School. They have two sons -- Ben and Alex. Ben graduated from Princeton in May 2003 and now works for Forest City Enterprises in New York on the Atlantic Yards Project. Alex is a law student at Case Western Reserve University. Hal has been involved in community development activities through the Maingate Business Development Corp in the East 55th Street and Woodland Avenue area. Maingate works to sustain businesses in the neighborhood and to encourage other businesses to locate there. The group organizes neighborhood businesses so that they have some political say in what goes on in the community. |
