Edward Kelly, 54; lawyer and activist By Globe Staff, 5/1/2001
Mr. Kelly was born in New Brunswick, N.J. He graduated from Boston
College and Harvard Law School and earned a master's degree in library
science at Case Western University.
A former librarian in Youngstown, Ohio, from the mid-1970s to
mid-1980s, he was affiliated with Ohio Citizen Action, where he worked on
plant-closing legislation, electricity deregulation, and other issues.
Locally, he was affiliated with several groups, including Massachusetts
Citizen Action in Cambridge and the Campaign for Fair Electric Rates.
He leaves a son, Eamon of Allston; his mother, Ann (Cleary) of Needham;
his partner, Paula Tirrell of West Roxbury; and two brothers, Frank of
Waltham and William of Sharon.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow in St. Theresa Church
in West Roxbury. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
